Yep, we named him already. Actually really or friend John named him. Ha ha ha. We were having a really hard time thinking of a name. We had a lot that we liked, but nothing was really sticking out to us. John has a 6 month old named Westin and just joking said what about Easton? Well, we love it so thanks John! Also I wanted to add that my original due date was August 8th, but after our 2nd appt, my Dr moved it up to the 4th, so the ticker on the side is four days off. Not like it really matters that much cause the baby will come when he's ready. It's just every time I see it I find myself subtracting 4 days. :) I just don't want to take the effort to change it. The pictures I added are backwards too, but don't want to change that either. Really, I think the baby looks a lot like Daxton did in his 3D pics. I'm pretty sure Easton has Todds nose. Daxton looked like he did in his 3D pics and he really does. I love that you can get an idea of what they look like in there. Technology is great.

Life Update

Found out a few days ago that I could have gestational diabetes. I have to go in Thursday and do the 3 hour glucose test. I was kind of starting to wonder if I had it anyway, cause every time I would eat a lot of sugar, I would just feel funny. Almost like I was shaking, but I wasn't. I guess my sugar after the first test was up to 170 and should be below 140, so I'm pretty sure the second test is going to be positive too. We have diabetes in our family and my twin sister had gestational diabetes in her second pregnancy too, and not her first. Since I found out, I've been trying to follow the diet as well as I can from what I've looked up online. Apparently they will give me a more specific diet when they find out what my sugars are doing. It's hard though. I don't know how diabetic people do it. I'm not a big protien fan, so eating a lot of protien is not fun for me. I love fruit, and yogurt, and cereal. You can't eat any of that very much on the diet. No pastries either (obviously), and that's what my cravings have been for this pregnancy. I love cinnamon rolls and danishes, mmmm, but there will be no more of that. Even if my diagnosis comes out negative, I think I will try to stick to a lower carb diet, because having that high of sugar scares me a little. I don't want to harm this baby, and I don't want to end up with diabetes any time soon. Lot's of people with gestational diabetes develop diabetes 5 to 10 years after the pregnancy. Exercising and eating healthy can help ward it off longer, so I think I will be doing a lot of that. It sort of doesn't make sense to me that my parents had 5 daughters, and the only 2 that haven't abused their bodies (drug use, anorexia, and not exercising regularly) are the 2 that end up with gestational diabetes. It just doesn't seem right. It scares me to find out this late in pregnancy if I have it. I probably shouldn't be reading stories about it, but who wouldn't. Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to stillbirth. I couldn't handle that. Here's to hoping everything turns out normal and eating healthier.
On another note, Todd is starting a new job at Fidelity with insurance at the end of May. This is a huge relief to us cause we were freaking out a little with the baby not being covered if something were to happen and he had to stay at the hospital longer than expected, or if I ended up needing a C-secton.
Todd has always been a people person. He just has a way with people, and everyone loves him. He went in for an interview in a position that everyone starts out in, and got it. He is a regional manager right now, so that looked good on his resume. A lady hiring for a higher position saw it and decided to interview him even though they always hire internally for this position. He interviewed, and got it. He really loves his job now, granted he is out of town about once a month, but he has a lot more freedom and the potential of making a lot more money, but we really need the insurance Fidelity is offering. He's taking the job at Fidelity, and still going to be working on the side with the job he's at now. He will be busy, but we don't really have a choice. After the baby comes, and we don't need the insurance so much, I'm pretty sure Todd will be going back to the position he's in now. The only thing that would stop that is if the company he's at goes under. I don't see that happening any time soon though.
Somehow things always work out. I'm just greatful we have these good opportunities to choose from. Some people aren't that lucky.
I'm still working at the Post Office every Saturday, and doing BPO's during the week. They usually keep me pretty busy, except the past couple weeks it has been slow. I'm really glad the mail is pretty light in the spring/summer, otherwise I'd probably be in a lot of pain. It's getting harder and harder to lift things around that truck, and everytime I drop a letter I kick myself ;). If I can make it through the hot summer, I will be golden. I want to get my real estate license too, but with work being slow, we don't have the money to front for the class right now. The class is about $500 and then it's about $800 a year to keep it active. Once work pics back up, I will do that and hopefully be making more money. I have had some ups and downs at the post office, and I have thought about quitting a lot. The only thing stopping me is the money. It pays better than any job I've had before, and it's really nice to have the extra money. It's about $600 take home a month just for working 4 days a month. Not too bad. The other thing is if I stay there long enough and get a regular position, it has great benefits, and pays even more. The job's really not hard, just when you're pregnant. Hopefully I can stick it out that long. One of my biggest concerns is it being way too hot this summer. There is no AC in those trucks, and the sun beats down in the big windows. Last summer, I was always so sweaty, and it's going to be so much worse this year. My legs are probably going to swell up pretty bad. Using the bathroom is a hassle also, cause you have to drive somewhere that's not on your route and lock everything up. That could be a problem in a month or so too. Anyway, that's what's going on with us right now. I haven't updated for a while so this ended up being really long. Sorry.

Ok, so most of the pics are from Daxtons Birthday, but for Todd we went and ate at Texas Roadhouse. It was pretty funny, they had a person dressed as an armadillo that Daxton was really scared of when we first walked in. I of course comforted him, and said it's ok, and gave him a hug. The person in the costume noticed he was scared and walked around the corner where he couldn't see. The next few days Dax kept holding my face, saying "scared?" then he'd pat my back and say, "it's ok." I don't think we could have asked for a sweeter or cuter kid. He is so adorable.

We had 2 birthday parties, one big one for the millions of people in Todd's family with April birthdays.......ok for 4 of them, but that was only some of the April birthdays. Then we had a big party with everyone at our house. It was pretty crazy. I'm waiting for the year it's warm enough at the end of April to just do it outside, cause our house just isn't big enough for that many people. So far both years have been really cold.

Todd turned 29 and Dax turned 2. Daxton is talking so much. You can pretty much just communicate with him now. It's pretty nice knowing what is going through that head. One of his favorite things to say is "mine, not yours" ha ha ha... I said he's 2 right? We are working on the sharing thing. Him and his cousin Abbi have butted heads since probably about a year ago. They are always fighting about something. I think it's starting to get better though. Dax is starting to understand the concept of sharing. It's taken constantly working with them to get to this point though.

Another of his favorite things to say is "come here" and "lets go." It sounds more like, "come ern its go", but we can all undrestand. He even says, "come here doggy, lets go Titan," but he say's Titan like Tie-at. It's pretty cute, he grabs your hand and tries to drag you with him. We BBQ'd with my cousin the other day who has twins that are about 8 months older than Dax, and he was doing that to them instead of me for a change. It was nice to have a break, and also nice that he is big enough to just go play with them now without us watching his every move.

Camping should be fun this year. For his birthday, we got him a little fishing pole and a camping chair. Also, from the easter bunny he got a shovel, rake, hoe set. He loves following me around the yard when I'm cleaning up dog poop (ewww). He grabs the snow shovel and helps me find the piles. He will have fun with the new tools helping us in the yard this year. I think he'll really enjoy trying to fish with us too. He likes being part of the action.

We put Dax in a toddler bed about a month ago. Amazingly, he did awesome. He still hasn't gotten out of bed once. I guess he was ready. He has always been really good at adjusting to things like that though. When we switched him to a sippy from a bottle and to milk from formula, a little over a year ago, he just switched and didn't even make a peep about it. Hopefully he'll adjust well to the new baby coming. He is always amazing me when it comes to adjustment. Every time I'm worried about something, it doesn't even phase him. Let's hope that's the case this time too.

Daxton had so much fun coloring eggs, and hunting for eggs at both grandparents houses. He is old enough now to enjoy that kind of stuff. It makes it really fun for us to watch him. We colored eggs at our friend Josh's house a few nights before easter. We did a big BBQ and had Daxton, Emma, Abbi, and Lovelle color eggs. Dax did pretty good until the end I think he got bored and started dumping cups out and stuff. Good thing Josh had a black table, towels he didn't care about, and old T-shirts. We went to Todd's parents house Easter morning where we had breakfast and did an egg hunt. Dax loved finding all the eggs. Todds mom kept putting more out for him to pick up. It was pretty funny. He just kept going and going and going. Later we went to my families house where we had another egg hunt and lunch (which I made way too many deviled eggs for, bleh). I don't have pics of that cause I forgot my camera, but he had just as much fun. He is still having a couple pieces of candy a day, and I think it should last all year ;). I love being a mom and watching him learn and grow. It is amazing.

We had another ultrasound today and the Dr is pretty sure it's a boy. The umbilical cord was between the legs for part of the ultrasound so it was kind of hard to see, but it definitely looks like a boy. We are exited for Daxton to have a baby brother. He will love it.

New Baby

So most of you know, we are having a baby in August. The due date was originally August 8th, but she moved it up to August 4th at my last appointment. We will hopefully find out if it's a boy or a girl on Feb. 15th. It has been a little surreal this time around. For some reason it just isn't sinking in like it did with Daxton. Hopefully when we know what it is and can start throwing names around, it will be better. I have started feeling the first flutters, so that has helped a little. On the up side, it has been going by much faster this time. It might be because I'm preoccupied with another kid and 2 jobs, but it's been good. I'm already going into the second trimester!! I have been having some mixed feelings about having a second kid. I feel a little bad taking some of the attention away from Daxton, and I can't imagine loving someone as much as him... although everyone tells me your heart just grows and you do. I'm sure I will, it just seems so weird still. One thing that put a whole new light on things for me was when I asked Dax if he wants a brother or a sister (which I'm not sure he understands the meaning of those words yet) and his response was "friend". Wow, that was a really good reminder that things will be fine, and in the end Daxton gets a little friend to play with. Overall we are really excited for the new arrival.

Thanksgiving and Snow

We had a great Thanksgiving, and it's been super cold here. We have had lots of snow already, and with Todd out of town so much, I've been doing a lot of shoveling. Daxton loves the snow. Now evertime he says outside, he adds "burr". He is getting so big and learning new words everyday. A couple days ago, he wanted some candy so he climbed on my lap and says, "candy, please, yes." While he said it, he nods yes and smiles his big missing tooth smile.... How can you resist that. Needless to say, he got some candy.

Well, its been too long again. Just a quick update, Daxton is walking, climbing, and getting into everything. He is also starting to say words like thank you, doggie, dada, no, no way, duck, and hi. Todd got a new job at Carstar collision repair as a cost estimator, and I am pretty sure I will have a job with the post office as a mail carrier as of Wednesday. Time for an update. We have our computer up and running and I was able to add some new pics. Easter was a blast. I love having a kid that I can watch enjoy holidays like that. I am really looking forward to the summer. It's hard to imagine right now with about 4 inches of snow on the ground, but it is coming soon. I can't wait to take Daxton swimming and to the park. I think camping will even be nice. As most of you know, we have been in construction mode on our new house since we signed. It has been a ton of work, but we are soooo close to being done and it has all been worth it. The house is exactly what we wanted. I think we will be here for a loooong time. :) I would love to never have to move again. I only got a few before pics cause of all the craziness, but I will post those along with after pics when everything is done. In the meantime, here are some more recent pics. Mostly from Easter. I can't believe my little boy is getting so big!

We Closed Today!!

We closed on our house today! Now we just have to completely remodel it. Thats all. :) It will be a lot of work, but we did the same thing with our last house in Clinton so we know how it goes. I kind of like that we can take a house that is all run down and turn it into something really nice. It feels like you've accomplished a lot when you see the finished product. I think everyone might go to Wendover this weekend to celebrate. Dan and Jenny came home yesterday so the celebration would really be because of that, we just have 2 things to celebrate. I am so glad they are back. They are some of our best friends and I love their kids soooooo much, just as much as my own. Daxton was sick this week and still is coughing and has a runny nose, so it's nice to have something like this happen that kind of cancels out the hard week with a sick kid. I will probably try and post some before and after pics of our house. I AM SO EXCITED!

Back in Utah

So, it's been a while and most the people who read my blog already know that we moved back to Utah. So, we already found a house that we are in the process of buying. It is in Kaysville. It needs some work, but that's nothing new to us. We are way excited to be getting into such a good neighborhood for the price that we are. It really is a steal. We are just waiting for the appraisal to be done then everything is set. The loan is already through underwriting and everything. We are just getting anxious to move in because there is so much to be done, we just want to get started!
Daxton is doing well. He is getting so big. I swear he said dog the other day sometimes when you tell him doggy, he'll say "dogga", and of course he says the traditional mama and dada. He always tries to copy sounds too. Like if I tell him to sit down when he is in the bath tub, he starts saying ssssssi sssssi. Oh, and he has turned into quite the climber. :) He LOVES climbing stairs, darting for them every time I turn my head, and he tries to climb into the bath every time you start the water. He is so adorable!
I've noticed I don't post a lot of pics of me and Todd, I'm going to try to get better at that. We'll see. After having Daxton, he is just so cute that we don't get around to taking many pics of us anymore.
This one is old, but it's a start right. Oh and I am thinking I might color my hair blond again. Needing some opinions.

We had a really good Christmas. It is so much funner with a kid that we can spoil, even though he isn't old enough to know what's going on yet. We actually got snow for Christmas here in Texas. We were saying before we moved that it would be perfect to have snow for Christmas, but for it to melt right after, and that's exactly what happened. It was pretty cool. Daxton wasn't too interested in the presents. He mostly wanted to get down and practice his new skill.... crawling. Overall, it was really nice. Kind of weird not having most of the family around, but really good anyway. Happy New Year everyone!

December 10th was our 4 year anniversary. The last year has been amazing and a lot has changed. We have an adorable little boy for one. We are both loving being parents. We sold our house and moved to Texas. We will be back though. You never know for sure until you try... right :). Todd changed jobs and by the way, passed his last test to become a stock broker again today. Congrats Todd! and yeah for me cause he doesn't have to study ALL the time anymore. I quit my job to be a stay at home mom. Also, we moved to Texas so I couldn't really keep in anyway. Overall, it's been awesome. We are having fun and are still so much in love. For our anniversary...... ha ha ha, we went to Chili's. Todd tried planning a romantic evening but I accidentally wrecked the plans by saying I would rather go somewhere cheap so we could save money. Woops! Oh well, we had fun anyway. I think it's more about enjoying each others company than how much your food costs anyway.

On another note, Daxton seems to be learning sooo fast. The last few weeks it's been one thing after another. I swear he's going to be walking before we know it. He has learned to sit up, stand up to things, drink from a sippie cup, drink from a straw, and is learning how to eat finger foods. If he gets the food between his pointer finger and thumb, he can get it in his mouth no problem, but if it gets stuck anywhere else on his hand, he can't get it to his mouth. He gets so frustrated. Very cute! Here are some pics of Daxton showing off his new skills. This first one, he is trying to climb the gait. He climbs EVERYTHING!

Finally a Halloween picture

Well here it is, a picture of his Halloween costume, just like I promised. :) The other is one in his stroller. He loves just putting his legs up and loungin'. Also, we had some snow in Texas. This was Daxton's first snow. Ha ha ha, he doesn't even realize it though. We are all doing really well. Todd passed his Series 7 exam last Saturday and is now studying for his Series 63 that he will test for this Saturday. After that I might actually get to spend a little time with him. It's been nothing but studying around here lately. It has been really cold here. I think the high today is 39. I know Utah is colder but for Texas, 39 is COLD! Daxton is doing really good. He is not crawling yet, just army crawling. That's good enough though cause it gets him everywhere he wants to go.... and into everything he wants to get in to. He has also started to sit up on his own and yesterday started pulling himself up to things. He pulls himself up to his toy box and tries to get his toys out. Today, his toy box was next to the couch so he turned and was standing up to the couch. Then, he let go and fell over backwards. Woops! He doesn't get the concept of falling on his bottom yet. Todd and I got gym memberships and have been trying to go as much as possible. I want to get back in shape after having Daxton. Todd wants to stay in shape because he has a desk job now and they like to give them lots of junk food. We went and took pictures for Christmas cards which will be coming out in the mail shortley. I didn't want to post any and ruin the surprise though.

Texas

So obviously it's been a while. Well, there is a lot to say. We moved to Texas about a month and a half ago. We wanted some warmer weather and it looks like we got out just in time. It has already snowed in Utah and is pretty cold from what I've heard. I think we came down on a bad year though, because it has been raining like every other day. This is the most rain Texas has seen since 1994. Daxton is doing good. He is starting to scoot around on the floor. He is even starting to learn how to put his knees up under him. It won't be long and he'll be crawling all over the house. He is 6 months already.....halfway to a year, I can't believe it. Todd just found a new job working for TD Ameritrade. He is getting back into the broker world. He will have to take his series 7 and 63 again so the next month or so he will be very busy working and studying. So far, the verdict is that we like Utah better. Texas is too busy and has way too many people (at least this part of Texas). They also have traffic EVERYWHERE! Even when we go out at night...there is traffic. Also, most of our friends and family are in Utah and even the better weather doesn't make up for that. I think we are just bored. We used to have things to do and people to hang out with and now we mostly just stay home. I guess I'm just bored. For halloween, Daxton is going to be a frog. His costume is so cute. Daxtons first campiing trip

We went camping the last weekend of June to Flaming Gorge. We bought a tent trailer right before we went because it was supposed to rain and boy were we glad we did. It rained Thursday night, almost all day Friday and all night Friday night. Despite the rain, we had a good time and Daxton did awesome. He even got to wear his swimming suit.......He didn't swim at all, but he wore it :)

This year has been a whirl wind so far. Daxton is growing up so fast. He is smiling a ton and is starting to try to laugh. He has also found his hands and sucks on them like crazy. He is very strong and likes to be standing up or sitting up most of the time and holds his head up really well. He also loves to wiggle! He is getting a little bit older and things have been a lot easier. He actually slept for 6 hours at a time one night and is now consistantly sleeping for 4 hours at a time at the beginning of the night. It has been so nice. Anyway, here are some new pics. He's finally here! He was born April 30th at 1:50 pm, 7 lbs 2 oz, 20 inches. The labor was really easy. I had him about 3 hours after I got to the hospital. The nurses were all amazed that this was my first baby. So far he has been an awesome baby and only cries when he is uncomfortable or hungry. We had his pics done on Saturday and as you can see, they turned out really cute. It's definitely been a huge lifestyle change and we are not getting much sleep at this point but it's all worth it. He is so adorable!

Well I was going to put up some new pics but my cord mysteriously disappeared. Anyway, we are just over 5 weeks away from meeting Daxton. Everything is going good. The baby seems to be healthy and I am feeling ok still. At the beginning of March, I went down to part time at work. I only work about 18 hours a week now. I think that has helped me keep my sanity and health. I work in a pretty stressful environment. We are lucky enough to have Todds job pay enough to keep us afloat. We go to our last child birth class tommorrow. I can't beleive it is getting so close. I am definately ready to be done being pregnant though.

Sorry, we have been a little lazy with the camera lately but I swear there will be some pics soon. We had another Dr. appointment. The baby looks like a baby now on the ultrasound. It is kicking around already and the Dr. says it is very active. At first I thought that might be a bad thing but then again that also means it is healthy. All good news. I still can't wait until November 21st when we will find out the sex. Then I can quit calling it it. Oh ya, and congrats to Bryce and Laurie. Tatum is so cute. I can't wait to have one of our own. So I'm in the stage where my clothes are staring to get too small but maternity clothes are way too big still. It's kind of an uncomfortable stage and I'm sure it gets a lot more uncomfortable, or so I've heard;) but it is all worth it. Only 6 more months:)
